27 Inspirational Web Cartoons
Before the days of the Internet, if you were an amateur doodler, one of the only ways to share your art was through photocopying it and distributing it through a ’zine. Nowadays, though, anyone can create a website and post their drawings combined with musings. Web comics usually differ from traditional comic books and strips by tackling current events and pop culture. Since they can be updated at any time, web cartoons often tackle what’s current in the news, whether it’s political hijinks or Charlie Sheen’s latest rant.
The following is just a sampling of the comics I’ve found on the web. They vary in design, from minimalism to highly digitalized. Some are funny, others are serious and others are just art. In addition, a LOT of them contain profanity and adult themes, so consider yourself warned.
I’m grateful for the platform the Internet provides, because without it, I doubt we’d be exposed to so many comic artists. What are your favorite web cartoons?
