Beautiful Use of Typography in Book Cover Design

Ps Print online printing company

Occasionally, I’m presented with a design brief for a book cover that doesn’t allow for the use of imagery, whether it’s due to the subject matter or budgetary concerns. It’s times like these a book designer finds out what he or she is really made of. Below, you’ll find some of the cleverest, most inventive covers I’ve come across—and they all manage to convey a sense of their contents without a single stock image.

These are all great, we have just been studying book design, both in & out - I’ll have to share this link with my class.

I like these! I have just been exploring myself the idea between remaking book covers when a film inspired by the book comes out for my blog ( http://yellowcardesign.com/blog/2010/08/26/hey-are-you-a-book-or-a-dvd/ ) and I do think that these simple designs like the ones above are way more attractive and effective then overly complicated one… Hurray for not using stock images - let alone movie posters - for book covers!
